A big part of the beginnings of the Escape to Paradise brand is embracing the Aloha Spirit. This stems from the journey of our founder and creative director Sacha Alagich who competed in the sport of tandem surfing.
Tandem Surfing is a specialised, acrobatic water sport, originating from Hawaiian tradition, where two partners, typically a male lifter and female flyer, riding a single large board while performing athletic lifts.
"I guess one of the most unusual and unique parts of the journey is that I used to be a tandem surfer which is two people on a surfboard doing acrobatic tricks and achieved the goal of reaching number 4 in the world for this sport and through this journey I was inspired by the Aloha spirit as this is a traditional Hawaiian sport and wanted to bring this beauty into a brand that embodies this ethos."
